Small Satellites Systems and Services Symposium 2010, Madeira, Portugal
The symposium is a biennial event started in 1992. It is coordinated with two other conferences, namely the Berlin Conference on Small Satellites and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Small Satellites Conference. This ensures that new and original subjects are presented and will offer wide opportunities to exchange ideas on technologies and opinions on the future evolution of small satellites.
In recent years, small satellites have reached technological maturity and are used in scientific missions and operative commercial applications. The amount of data they produce is growing at a relentless pace. Small satellites have already demonstrated their capability to play a role in gathering data to build knowledge. Examples include maritime activities of commercial vessels and crop yield forecasts. The pace at which space assets will increase their role in the knowledge-based society largely depends on the time elapsed from the moment data are acquired to the moment knowledge is available to the users.
The symposium will be an opportunity to gather ideas and visions on the small satellite role in the knowledge-based society of the second decade of the 21st century. Session topics will include:
- small satellites and knowledge development,
- academic projects,
- aspects of Cubesat,
- earth observation,
- new technologies,
- mission and system analysis,
- navigation,
- in-flight experience.For further information, please visit:
