A conference on 'Energy economy, policies and supply security: surviving the global economic crisis' will take place from 25 to 28 August 2010 in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The past few years have seen a number of trends which have had significant impact on the realm of energy policy. These have included rapid growth in energy demand in developing countries, price shocks, growing evidence of global warming and looming difficulties in production of primary energy resources. These all create challenges for researchers active in energy economics and politicians responsible for energy policies.

The event is expected bring to together wide spectrum of scientists, policy makers, professionals from all energy sectors, governmental and public institutions.

It will also be an opportunity for participants to learn more about the specifics and problems of energy sector development in the Baltic States and the wider area around them. The problems of the integration of the region into the future pan-European energy market will also be on the agenda. For further information, please visit:
