Seventh European Workshop on Public Key Services, Applications and Infrastructures, Athens, Greece
In recent times, information and communication technologies (ICT) have changed the way that private and public sector organisations interact with the world around them. Companies, institutions and organisations, irrespective of their size, are using the internet to communicate, facilitate the interconnection of employees and branches, connect to back-end data systems and perform transactions. In such an environment, new dependencies and risks arise.
Public key infrastructure (PKI) is a new security tool that can be brought to bear against growing risks and threats. Further, public key cryptography (PKC) services and applications are making steady progress in meeting the demands various information security solutions, providing benefits in selected application areas.
