Prague Stringology Conference 2010, Prague, Czech Republic
The term stringology is a popular nickname for string algorithms as well as for text algorithms. Stringology is also a science on algorithms on strings and sequences. It solves such problems like exact and approximate pattern matching, searching for repetitions in various texts, and so on. There are many areas that utilise the results of the stringology (such as information retrieval, computer vision, computational biology and DNA processing).
The topics of the conference are set to include:
- algorithms for pattern matching in strings, images and trees,
- data structures for pattern matching in strings, images and trees,
- coding and data compression,
- bioinformatics,
- information retrieval,
- string processing algorithms in databases,
- searching for regularities,
- natural language processing.
The conference is organised annually by the Prague Stringology Club, a research group in the Department of Theoretical Computer Science at the Faculty of Information Technology, Czech Technical University in Prague. For further information, please visit:
