The 'Gendered citizenship in multicultural Europe: issues, challenges, visions - FEMCIT research dissemination seminar' will take place in Brussels, Belgium on 23 September 2010.

The 'Gendered citizenship in multicultural Europe: the impact of contemporary women's movements' (Femcit) project has been exploring the relationship between the changing forms and practices of gendered citizenship, and women's movements in various European countries over the last forty years.

At this seminar, leading scholars from across Europe will present the key findings of the FEMCIT project, drawing on their extensive research exploring six dimensions of citizenship, namely political, social, economic, ethnic/religious, bodily and intimate citizenship.

The seminar will be organised around the following topics:
- 'What are the challenges faced by women representatives in political life?'
- 'How do the categories of ethnicity and gender intersect in work-life?'
- 'How has intimate life been transformed for those living outside of conventional families?'
- 'What does citizenship mean for women from specific ethnic backgrounds?'For further information, please visit:
