Expressions of interest in information technology supporting statistical methodology

In view of the forthcoming call for proposals within the context of the Fourth Framework Programme on 15 December 1994, the Statistical Office of the European Commission will host a two-day event for expressions of interest in the field of information technology to support statistical methodology. It will take place on 24-25 November 1994 in Luxembourg.

The aim of the event is to:

- Provide information which could contribute to the construction of potential consortiums;
- Stimulate cooperation;
- Create conditions for good projects in the area of information technology and statistical methodology (formal data representation techniques, integrated statistical working environments, new methods and methodology for knowledge extraction, concept manager servers).

A detailed description of the areas will be available on the day. Participation is open to industry, universities, public administrations, and information technicians and statisticians.

The programme for the event includes general presentations on project proposals, and parallel working groups to introduce project ideas, to elaborate first drafts, and to gather consortium partners.
