The workshop entitled 'Challenges to social cohesion in cities and social innovation responses' will be held at the Borschette Centre, Brussels on 7 October 2010.
This workshop will examine the challenges to social cohesion in cities from an integrated perspective, as well as how socially innovative strategies can be effective in the fight against social exclusion. In addition to presenting the findings from different networks funded by the Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities (SSH) theme of the EU's research Framework Programme, the workshop will also examine how cohesion policy can contribute to tackling social exclusion.
The event is organised in the frame of the 2010 Open Days of the 8th European Week of Regions and Cities, co-organised by the European Commission, DG Regional Policy, and the Committee of the Regions. The overarching theme of Open Days 2010, which runs from 4 to 7 October, is 'Europe 2020: Competitiveness, cooperation and cohesion for all regions'.For further information, please visit:
