EARTO Innovation Prize and study launch event, Brussels, Belgium
Research and technology organisations (RTOs) are specialised knowledge organisations dedicated to the development and transfer of science and technology to the benefit of the economy and society. New products, processes and services require more and more sophisticated technologies. RTOs seek to build bridges between research and applications by supporting product and process innovation in all branches of industry and services.
The first half of the event programme will feature speeches from the current President of the EU Competitiveness Council-Research Benoît Cerexhe and European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science, Máire Geoghegan-Quinn.
The second part will feature the 2010 EARTO Innovation Prize, which recognises outstanding innovations and to underscore the role of research and technology organisations in a modern European innovative economy.
