European Strategic Energy Technology Plan Conference 2010, Brussels, Belgium
The Strategic Energy Technology (SET)-Plan is the technology pillar of the EU's energy and climate policy. It is a blueprint for Europe to develop a portfolio of affordable, clean, efficient and low emission energy technologies. The plan also lays out the EU's strategy to accelerate the development of these technologies and their market rollout.
This event will examine on the progress of the various lines of the SET-Plan, covering several different objectives:
- examining work done with regard to the set up of the European Industrial Initiatives (EIIs) and the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA), with special focus on the Smart Cities Initiative,
- launching industrial initiatives for bio-energy and nuclear energy,
- launching the next EERA Joint Programmes,
- starting the international cooperation dimension within the SET-Plan.
