The Eighth Scandinavian Workshop on E-government will take place from 7 to 8 February 2011 in Tampere, Finland.

E-government is a general term which is used to cover a wide range of topics related to the online provision of services by government entities. Most often this is for companies, citizens and residents of a given area or country. E-government is often divided into four domains: governance, information and communication technology (ICT), business process re-engineering and e-citizen.

The general objective of this event is to promote quality and relevance in e-government research. This edition is one of a series dedicated to discussing topical current issues today and different possible ways forward. The event programme focuses on informal discussion more than formal conference presentations.

The event theme will be 'Improving e-government'. This relates to the pluralism of e-government research and practice. Different forms of improvements may necessitate, require, exploit, take place, affect or induce different kinds of stakeholders, technologies, objectives, interests, costs, measures, measurements, or practices, among many others.

Attendees are expected to include stakeholders' disciplines such as public administration, political science, information systems and informatics, knowledge management, service management, economics, sociology and law.For further information, please visit:
