'The role of the Common Agricultural Policy for EU agriculture and rural areas - insights from the Cap-ire project', Brussels, Belgium
The aim of the conference is to disseminate the final results of the Seventh Framework Programme-funded 'Assessing the multiple impacts of the Common Agricultural Policy on rural economies' (Cap-ire) project and to discuss them with a wider audience including policymakers, stakeholders, participants in related research projects and the research community. The event also aims to contribute scientific support to the ongoing discussion on reforms in the post-2013 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
The Cap-ire project has sought to provide a knowledge basis on mechanisms of change in rural areas to support the CAP policy design. The project has made 11 case study regions in nine EU countries. It has also carried out a survey of farm households, with a focus is the reaction of farms households to CAP reforms and potential future policy scenarios. For further information, please visit: http://www.cap-ire.eu/default.aspx(opens in new window)
