Workshop on 'Policies in support of high-growth innovative small and medium-sized enterprises', Brussels, Belgium
In recent years, policymakers in Europe have paid increasing attention to the conditions needed to foster high-growth enterprises. These enterprises are seen as important drivers of economic growth, employment and social well-being.
While stakeholders eager to find effective ways to promote high-growth enterprises, there is uncertainty about how to best design related policy measures in order to reach the desired impact.
The following specific questions will be addressed in the workshop:
- 'What examples of effective policies for high-growth small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) exist, particularly with regard to fostering start-ups, access to finance and internationalisation?'
- 'How are policies for innovative high-growth SMEs distinct from general SME policy, and is there a trade-off between both types of polices?'
- 'What role can the EU level play in fostering high-growth innovative SMEs, fine-tuned with national government polices?'For further information, please click: here(opens in new window)
