Workshop on Service Science and Systems, Munich Germany
While the service sector forms a growing portion of world economy, it still lags behind other industry sectors, such as manufacturing, in terms of overall productivity. This workshop will look at how the internet is creating a new wave of business and technical models, which promise to boost productivity in the service sector.
Service science is still in its infancy. Most momentum comes from traditional hardware and software vendors who, while possessing tremendous knowledge and experience in computing, are somewhat limited when it comes to service applications.
The event will be forum for stakeholders to identify relevant modern technologies that can help promote service cycles and to examine novel service systems and applications in a variety of service industries. It will bring together researchers and industry experts to share research results and practical experience, with focus on tackling barriers towards reliability, interoperability, usability and productivity.
The workshop in Munich will be the fourth in the series, but is being run under a different title, in response to growing interests from participants in the previous workshops.
