Conference on perspectives on gender and religion, Bologna, Italy
Organised by the 'Gender-migration-intercultural interaction' (Gemic ) project, the event will look to deconstruct the dichotomy between a homogeneous Europe and a likewise consistent 'other'. It will also focus on how gender lies at the heart of the frictions occurring as a result of contemporary transnational challenges.
Attendees will also be able to hear about frontline research on how European States govern migration movements and everyday life along with research focused on power relations within selected minorities.
The Gemic project is funded by the Seventh Framework Programme. It studies cultural interactions in a European perspective, identifying links between migration, gender and intercultural interaction, as it is in the meeting place of these three dimensions that some of the most important cultural developments in Europe take place.For further information, please send a message to:
