An Open day for the European Bioinformatics Institute will take place on 15 March 2011 in Cambridge, UK.

The event will be an opportunity for young scientists who are considering a career in bioinformatics, a PhD or a post doc to find out more about opportunities at one of Europe's main centres for bioinformatics.

Attendees will be able to learn about cutting-edge research projects, get an overview of one of the world's most important collections of biological databases and tools, and be given time to talk one-to-one with the experts who develop and curate these services.

The European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) is a non-profit academic organisation that forms part of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL). The institute is a centre for research and services in bioinformatics and manages databases of biological data including nucleic acid, protein sequences and macromolecular structures. For further information, please visit: http://www.ebi.ac.uk/training/openday/(opens in new window)
