The Third 'Distributed European Infrastructure for Supercomputing Applications' (Deisa) 'Partnership for advanced computing in Europe' (Prace) Symposium will take place from 13 and 14 April 2011 in Helsinki, Finland.

The event will feature keynote speakers from Europe, Asia and the United State as covering major computational science areas in high-performance computing (HPC). High-performance computing uses supercomputers and computer clusters to solve advanced computation problems, such as those found in science and computational research.

The event is organised by the Seventh Framework Programme-funded 'Partnership for advanced computing in Europe' (Prace) project. Prace) project is dedicated to building and maintain a pan-European high-performance computing service. The initiative brings together governments, funding agencies, centres capable of hosting and managing the supercomputers, and the scientific and industrial user communities.

The symposium programme will include the First Prace User Forum, which will serve as a venue where users can discuss their experiences and expectations from Prace HPC services and resources. For further information, please visit: http://www.prace-project.eu/events/deisa-prace-symposium-2011(opens in new window)
