The 'social web' is a term which denotes the use of the world wide web as a kind of social media. A key component of this activity is how people socialise or interact with each other online and through content-sharing sites which offer a social networking functionality.
In light of the recent wave of social media technologies and services, there is increasing proof that that the web is being fundamentally transformed by social media. This is both in terms of how content is created and shared, and also in terms of how business and society are embracing social media.
The aim of this workshop will be to encourage discussion and sharing of ideas and innovative research results that focus on the future of the social web. It will also seek to promote interdisciplinary research and exchange of ideas in this area between industry and different fields of academia (e.g. computer science, mathematics, physics, psychology, sociology, cultural anthropology, etc.).For further information, please visit: http://grupoweb.upf.edu/fosw2011/cfp.html(opens in new window)
