'Green buildings, green cities, green Europe: the future of sustainable urban development', Brussels, Belgium
Within the European Union, buildings are currently responsible for 40% of all energy consumption and 36% of total carbon dioxide emissions. The energy demands in homes, workplaces and leisure facilities consume more energy than either transport or industry, and account for two-thirds of energy used by EU buildings. Improving the energy performance of buildings is a cost-effective way of tackling climate change, improving future energy security and meeting EU emissions targets.
This event will analyse the existing targets, standards and methodologies. It will also look start a new dialogue towards achieving greener buildings, more sustainable urban development, boosting economic growth and jobs and fostering better social inclusion and equality. For further information, please visit: http://publicpolicyexchange.co.uk/events/BC16-PPE2.php(opens in new window)
