'Artificial intelligence in space: intelligence beyond planet Earth', Barcelona, Spain
An enduring part of research on artificial intelligence is that the processes of how humans think and act can be modelled and understood to the point where robots may develop some of the same qualities. Science fiction authors have picked up on this, and often combine artificial intelligence with robots and space travel. Certainly that vision is still far away, but methods rooted in artificial intelligence research are increasingly finding their way into applications in areas related to space engineering.
Co-organised by the Advanced Concepts Team of the European Space Agency and the Artificial Intelligence Group of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the event will look at the most recent applications and advances related to artificial intelligence and space, review the current state of the dialogue between the two domains and discuss future perspectives.
The workshop will be part of the 22nd International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence. For further information, please visit: http://www.congrex.nl/11M10/(opens in new window)
