The annual conference of the European Trade Association of Research and Technology Organisations (EARTO) will take place from 12 to 13 May 2011 in Warsaw, Poland.
Research and technology organisations (RTOs) are specialised knowledge organisations dedicated to the development and transfer of science and technology to the benefit of the economy and society. RTOs build bridges between basic research and industrial applications. They also contribute to strengthening Europe's economic performance by supporting product and process innovation and technologies which contribute to improved living standards and higher quality of life.
A keynote speech by Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science will delivered with an overview of key issues facing RTOs. The speech will also adress some of the latest developments in EU policies on research, development and innovation.
