The 'MeshAtlantic workshop' will take place from 20 to 22 June 2011 in Faro, Portugal.
The event will be a chance for stakeholders to assess research and the latest findings in the area of underwater image-based methods (video or photograph) for biological and physical data acquisition and its use for habitat mapping (both habitat and species). This will cover a broad range of technology from fine scale mapping to broad scale mapping, ground-truthing of acoustic signals and classification data.
The ultimate goal of the event will be to bring together researchers and practitioners in areas relevant to habitat mapping. Topics will include:
- data acquisition using video and photography;
- annotation and data extraction methods and software;
- statistical modelling of spatial distributions;
