The 'Innovative Medicines Initiative stakeholder forum' will take place on 12 May 2011 in Budapest, Hungary.

The Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) is a public-private partnership which aims to improve the drug development process by supporting a more efficient discovery and development of better and safer medicines for patients. The event will offer the possibility to find out details on IMI's projects and activities, and meet IMI partners ranging from academia, industry and regulatory agencies.

The forum agenda will include:
- a plenary session, jointly organised by IMI and the Information Society and Media Directorate General, on how knowledge and data management can trigger innovation in healthcare and drug development;
- an overview of how IMI is meeting the innovation challenges faced by the pharmaceutical sector;
- presentations by leading scientists setting out the first achievements of ongoing IMI projects;
- an overview of IMI's scientific vision and industry priorities for the future;
