11th International Conference on Intelligent Virtual Agents, Reykjavik, Iceland
Intelligent virtual agents (IVAs) are interactive characters that exhibit human-like qualities and communicate with humans or with each other using natural human modalities such as speech and gesture. They are capable of real-time perception, cognition and action that allow them to participate in dynamic social environments.
The event will focus on the themes of language and culture. This will touch on the many aspects of intelligent virtual agent theory and application. Issues of interest are expected to include how systems deal with a variety of languages, linguistic and cultural modeling, and cultural differences in human-agent interaction.
The conference will be a forum for presenting research on modeling, developing and evaluating intelligent virtual agents with a focus on communicative abilities and social behavior. In addition to presentations on theoretical issues, the event will feature working applications. For further information, please visit: http://iva2011.ru.is/(opens in new window)
