A conference entitled 'How to unleash Europe's ICT innovations? - discuss with politicians, researchers and entrepreneurs' will take place on 10 May 2011 in Brussels, Belgium.

Innovation is at the heart of the Europe 2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. Both the Innovation Union and the Digital Agenda emphasise the importance of information and communication technology (ICT) as a driving force for innovation and competitiveness - not only for the rapidly evolving, research-driven sector itself, but also for other sectors in Europe's economy.

Europe has no shortage of ICT innovations, but falls short in the commercialisation of promising inventions. Europe can - and must do - much better in the technology transfer process, in turning innovative ideas and resources into new products and services that create growth, jobs and social welfare.

The event will be the final conference of the EU-funded 'Fostering interregional exchange in ICT technology transfer' (Fitt) project. The project has brought together European stakeholders involved in ICT research, business and innovation policy in order to improve the framework conditions for ICT technology transfer in order to enhance the commercialisation of Europe's best ICT research results. For further information, please visit: http://www.fitt-for-innovation.eu/index.php?id=fitt_conference(opens in new window)
