A workshop entitled 'Applications and implications of human factors on airport security' will take place on 25 May 2011 in Brussels, Belgium.

The event will discuss the implications of such applications on the operation, legislation and training of airport employees as well as venues for further research. The programme will also include the most recent results of the EU-funded 'Behavioural modeling for security in airports' (Bemosa) project, and in particular the principles of social networking applied to airport security.

The Bemosa project brings together ten entities from Slovakia, Italy, Israel, the Czech Republic, Greece and Spain, among other countries. It studies eliminating hazards of hostile action in the air transport system. Bemosa is also researching models and behavioural modelling by direct, multi-faceted observations of group behaviour and creating a dynamic and realistic model of social behaviour during airport security threats. For further information, please visit: http://bemosa.technion.ac.il/BrusselsRegistration.php(opens in new window)
