The aim of the conference is to provide all interested parties with an overview of the results obtained in the specific programmes of the Third Framework Programme for research and technological development (1990-1994). The specific programmes concerned relate to industrial and materials technologies (BRITE/EURAM II and CRAFT), and measurements and testing (BCR V), as well as the STEEL programme.

The following activities will take place:

- Round table discussions on manufacturing and design technologies for the industries and products of the future, and on perspectives for the future of RTD in the field of European industrial technologies;
- Presentation of successful industrial and materials projects;
- Presentation of new specific programmes and opening of the Proposers' Forum.

During the Proposers' Forum, participants will be able to consult European Commission Scientific Officers and leaders of existing and completed research projects. They will also be able to meet interested parties to discuss development and investment potential.
