An event entitled 'Conflict and peace in a changing international context: funding opportunities, matchmaking, networking in FP7' will take place from 6 to 7 July 2011 in Brussels, Belgium.
The conference will highlight research topics related to societal aspects of security within the 'Socio-economic sciences and Humanities' (SSH) and 'Security' priority area of the 'Cooperation' Theme of the Seventh EU Framework Programme (FP7). It will also bring together the respective international scientific community to foster cooperative, interdisciplinary research in this field.
On the first day of the conference participants will receive first hand information about the policy context, funding opportunities and forthcoming calls for proposals. A foresight session will be focusing on the needs beyond FP7. Coordinators of EU-funded projects will share their experiences and their latest findings.
On the second day parallel sessions on the topics focusing on societal aspects of security research of the forthcoming work programmes in FP7 will be taking place.
