The First International Conference on Sustainable Chemistry will take place from 6 to 8 July 2011 in Antwerp, Belgium.

The EU is a significant producer of chemical products, with manufacturing being an important part of the industry. As consumers demand safer, better and more convenient products, the chemical industry is faced with a number of major environmental challenges and societal concerns.

For sustainable chemistry, innovative and cleaner technologies and the development of appropriate business models, as well as performance measurements and better integrated management, are all important to the sector's development.

The aim of this event to cover both technological and nontechnological topics in academic and industrial research and to gauge the prospects for the chemical industry sector and sustainability in the future.

The conference is open to all academics and chemists, engineers, scientists in general, field researchers, managers and other specialists involved in one or more aspects of sustainable chemistry. For further information, please visit: http://www.wessex.ac.uk/11-conferences/sustainablechemistry-2011.html(opens in new window)
