First International Conference and Exhibition Wastes: Solutions, Treatments and Opportunities, Guimarães, Portugal
With an increasing diversity and quantity of material inputs, the complexity and nature of waste streams are continuously changing. Dealing with waste and residues has often resulted in the treatment of waste for landfill disposal, storage, and in some cases sorting. At the same time, research and development efforts have focused on waste valorisation, and transforming waste and biomass into energy, fuels, and other useful materials.
Although waste treatment has kept pace with the changing waste streams, waste management continues to present an ongoing challenge, requiring innovation and innovative approaches.
The aim of this event will be bring together stakeholders from the waste management and recycling sectors in order to look into possible solutions in finding a global balance between economic, environmental and social impacts. Topics will include:
- the development of innovative techniques, tools and strategies;
- improving corporate environmental performance;
- understanding how industry activities impact the environment;
- options analysis for environmental improvement.For further information, please visit: http://www.wastes2011.org/node/13(opens in new window)
