Enri-East final open conference, Brussels, Belgium
The event will address four main research themes of the project, presenting findings and practical recommendations on the following topics:
- self-organisation and socio-political representation of ethnic minorities along the east European borderland;
- historical paths, collective memories, present status and expected social dynamics of split nations in eastern Europe;
- interplay of identities and cultures;
- nations between the states - spotlight on the Baltic region and the special case of Germany.
The Enri-East project has been studying socio-ethnic identities along Europe's eastern border. It uses not only theoretical, methodological and empirical components, but also methods and approaches from a variety of social sciences. Geographically, the project has covered areas conventionally labelled as the Baltic region, eastern Europe, central Europe and the Carpathian basin. More than 12 ethnic minorities in 9 EU and neighbouring countries have been covered by a network of eleven teams.For further information, please visit: link(opens in new window)
