An event entitled 'Work-care tensions: the impact of labour market transitions across generations and around family formation' will take place on 1 September 2011 in Brussels, Belgium.

Sponsored by the EU-funded 'Workcare synergies' project, the event will summarise and disseminate research findings of some 20 previous EU-funded research projects in the field of work-care. The event will also serve as a foresight exercise both to understand the impact of labour market transitions on different generations and family formation, as well as examine how policy can best promote any effects that are beneficial to Europe.

The project has looked into the relationships between structural changes in labour markets, demography, welfare and economic policies at the macro level and changes in individual orientations to work and care on the micro level in seven European countries. For further information, please visit: http://workcaresynergies.eu/events/(opens in new window)
