A conference entitled 'Governance and sustainability in information systems - managing the transfer and diffusion of information technology' will take place from 22 to 24 September 2011 in Hamburg, Germany.

Organisations today act in globalised and competitive markets where information technology is the backbone of many distributed business processes. Products and services are increasingly affected by aspects of governance, risk and compliance in information systems. The information system point of view requires methods and procedures to achieve assurance in information systems. Managing information systems needs to take into account these issues to achieve a sustainable use and adoption of information technology.

The event will promote scientific and practical aspects of transfer and diffusion of information technology. It will feature a programme that, in addition to regular paper tracks, will also host a number of other activities and events, including keynote speeches, panels and a doctoral consortium.

The conference focus will be on theories, tools and best practices of governance and sustainability in information systems, in addition to more general topics related to transfer and diffusion of information technology. For further information, please visit: http://www.ifip86.uni-hamburg.de/conference/call-for-papers/(opens in new window)
