'Topics on astroparticle and underground physics', Munich, Germany
Scientists have been trying for years to detect the particles which make up dark matter. In astronomy and cosmology, dark matter is matter that is inferred to exist from gravitational effects on visible matter and gravitational lensing of background radiation. At the same time, scientists are still investigating the tiny surplus of particles of matter developed in contrast to anti-matter in the young universe.
The scientific plenary program will be subdivided into the main topics such as:
- cosmology;
- dark matter;
- the physics of neutrinos;
- gravitational waves;
- high-energy particles;
- photons which serve as astrophysical messengers harbouring important information.For further information, please visit: http://taup2011.mpp.mpg.de/(opens in new window)
