A conference on biogas microbiology will take place from 14 to 16 September 2011 in Leipzig, Germany.

Satisfying increasing energy demands in a sustainable way is a tremendous challenge. The conversion of biomass into fuels and the integration of anaerobic digestion into the treatment of various waste products is an excellent way to mineralise organic compounds while gaining energy-rich biogas. A better understanding of the microbiology behind the biogas processes may provide important information for further improvements.

The conference will cover current developments in field of microbiological research related to biogas production. It will also bring together experts of anaerobic digestion from all over the world and help establish future collaborative research in this field. For further information, please visit: http://www.ufz.de/index.php?en=20779(opens in new window)
