Fifth International Conference on Meaning-Text Theory, Barcelona, Spain
Meaning-text theory is a holistic linguistic theory characterised by the central position of the lexicon, the primacy of semantics, the importance of the communicative structure, and the reliance on dependencies on all levels. The field provides a large and elaborate basis for linguistic description and, due to its formal character, lends itself particularly well to computer applications, including machine translation, phraseology, and lexicography.
Research on meaning-text theory has expanded over the last four decades with respect to its coverage of linguistic phenomena and application in a variety of research fields - in particular natural language processing. This event will centre on six topics:
- fundamentals (semantics, syntax, morphology, phonology and their interaction);
- dictionaries and lexical semantics;
- collocations;
- semantic derivation and morphology;
- computational applications;
- terminology.For further information, please visit: http://meaningtext.net/mtt2011/(opens in new window)
