A symposium entitled 'New tuberculosis vaccines for the future' will be held from 17 to 18 October 2011 in Madrid, Spain.

Worldwide, many universities, research institutes and companies work on the development of new vaccines to combat tuberculosis (TB). In the past ten years, european researchers have made tremendous progress in the development of these urgently needed vaccines. A significant number of vaccine candidates are in several stages of development, from basic research to clinical trials.
