An event entitled 'Stem cells in development and disease' will take place from 11 to 14 September 2011 in Berlin, Germany.

Stem cells have the remarkable potential to either perpetuate themselves through self-renewal or differentiate towards specialised cell lineages. This dual capacity holds enormous potential for the study of developmental biology, the treatment of diseases and for the advancement of regenerative medicine.

The conference will examine the latest findings in stem cell biology including genetic and epigenetic mechanisms of reprogramming, maintenance of pluripotency and differentiation.

The event will bring together students, researchers and scientists working on different types of stem cells with the aim in understanding the fundamental mechanisms that regulate stem cells during embryonic development and diseases. For further information, please visit: https://www.stemcell2011-mdc-berlin.de/cms/default.asp(opens in new window)
