Fourth International Conference in Imaging for Crime Detection and Prevention, London, UK
Crime and anti-social behaviour have a significant cost for society and business alike. Surveillance systems are being increasingly deployed in public and private locations serving as deterrence and/or for information gathering. However, there are serious limitations to the use of conventional monitoring systems where human operators are asked to survey a large number of cameras with a wide geographical coverage or go through enormous amounts of recorded material.
Computer-based technologies are increasingly becoming used in what is becoming popularly known as video analytics. Such use, though, can have a major impact on society and individual liberty.
The conference will bring together researchers, industry, end-users, law-enforcement agencies and citizens groups to share experiences and explore areas where additional research and development are needed, identify possible cooperation and consider the various societal impact of such technologies. For further information, please visit: http://www.icdp-conf.org/(opens in new window)
