An event entitled 'Security research conference' will take place from 19 to 21 September 2011 in Warsaw, Poland.

Organised under the auspices of the Polish Council Presidency of the EU, the conference will be a forum for bringing together policymakers, researchers, industry representatives and end users from all over Europe. The event programme will consist of five plenary sessions and six parallel sessions, and include such topics as:
- innovative forensic technologies - including readiness building for chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) scenarios in Europe;
- capacities of satellite technologies in security domain - crisis management support experiences from floods in Poland in 2010;
- border security - technology transfer to border security authorities and their input as a key driver for product development;
- advanced technologies for penal procedure covering developments of information and technology tools for clear and fair presentation of evidence;
- dual use technologies for security and CBRN threats detection, protection and response;
- synergies between the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) and other initiatives;
- integration of societal aspects into EU research in security.

The conference will aim to facilitate cooperation between research organisations and companies from the European Union, associated and third countries, and initiate common competitive proposals for the upcoming FP7 call for proposals in the field of security technologies.

The event will also feature a security-related partnering day and brokerage event organised by the SEREN2 project. SEREN2 is a coordination action designed to link the different national contact points (NCPs) of the 'Security' Theme of FP7.For further information, please visit: http://www.src11.eu(opens in new window)
