An event entitled 'Towards Digital Agenda targets: patients' access to their health data' will take place on 5 October 2011 in Gastein, Austria.

This event aims to provide an overview of the Digital Agenda for Europe with a specific focus on e-health. The event will be a forum for all domain stakeholders and public administrations to participate and share their views on the challenging target of enabling Europeans to have access to their health data.

Speaker presentations and a follow-up panel discussion will focus on how access to patient health data could contribute towards enhancing the empowerment and quality of care for patients, reduce medical costs and foster independent living in remote places. Discussion will delve into telemedicine services, online medical consultations and improved emergency care, with the help of portable devices, who have allowed freedom of movement that patients had not previously enjoyed. For further information, please visit: http://www.ehfg.org/820.html#c1927(opens in new window)
