'Economic governance in Europe and the world: immediate policy issues', Brussels, Belgium
The event will feature a number of prescient issues in economic governance at the European and global levels. Stakeholders will discuss how Europe should deal with the sovereign debt crisis, the deepening of European financial integration, possible solutions to reduce tensions generated by the crisis, possible mechanisms of international economic governance to be fostered by the G20 and the future of the Doha round of the World Trade Organisation.
The conference is being organised by the EU-funded 'Politics, economics, and global governance: the European dimension' (PEGGED) project. The project is studying the impact of shifting interdependencies and power relationships, and the rise of emerging market economies. It is also looking at how international co-operation will need to be organised in new ways, the interests of new players in being represented, and the economic impact of cross-border integration on national policy autonomy. For further information, please visit: http://pegged.cepr.org/index.php?q=node/382(opens in new window)
