A workshop on ICT tools for governance and policy modeling will take place from 4 to 9 December 2011 in Rotorua, New Zealand.

The EU-funded 'Facilitating research cooperation between Europe and New Zealand' (FRENZ) will organise an event to bring together New Zealand and European researchers from a diverse range of disciplines and backgrounds to develop innovative research ideas addressing information and communications technology (ICT) tools for governance and policy modeling.

The workshop will take place in a 'sandpit' format. This is designed to be an intensive, interactive and free-thinking environment, where a diverse group of participants from a range of disciplines and backgrounds gets together for four days - away from their everyday worlds - to immerse themselves in collaborative thinking processes in order to construct innovative approaches.

The FRENZ project is a joint initiative between the New Zealand Ministry of Science and Innovation (MSI) and the European Commission (EC) to enhance the engagement of the New Zealand research, science and technology community with the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP7).For further information, please visit: here(opens in new window)
