The Netherlands Agency for Energy and the Environment (NOVEM) is organizing, in the framework of the THERMIE programme, a European conference and exhibition on "LPG: A clean and efficient motor fuel". It will take place on 3-4 April 1995 in Maastricht.

The aim of the conference is to present LPG as an alternative motor fuel for reducing the negative effects of road traffic on the environment. The conference will examine the properties of LPG and how it can and should be handled and used in complete safety.

The following topics will be discussed:

- Availability, demand and supply of LPG worldwide;
- The Dutch, European and world gas markets (now and in the future);
- Energy and environmental aspects of LPG;
- New engine management technologies adopted to the use of LPG in light and heavy duty engines;
- Safety aspects;
- Experience with LPG in public transport and other fleets;
- Infrastructure, standardization and economic and fiscal aspects.

Demonstrations will be given of safety measures both when refuelling vehicles and during filling-station deliveries by tanker.
