'Language technology for cultural heritage, social sciences and humanities', Avignon, France
The humanities, social sciences, and cultural heritage sector are increasingly interested in the work of researchers who are developing methods for data cleaning, semantic annotation, intelligent querying, linking, discovery and visualisation.
Language technology has an important role to play in these processes. At the same time, there are challenges to be met, such as 'noisy' text, non-standard, or archaic language varieties, linking data with diverse formats and languages, and missing resources, such as dictionaries.
The workshop is part of a series which aims to be a forum for researchers who are working on developing novel information technology for improved information access to data in the fields of humanities, social sciences, and cultural heritage. For further information, please visit: http://ilk.uvt.nl/LaTeCH2012/(opens in new window)
