A conference entitled 'The regional dimension of innovation' will take place on 18 January 2012 in Brussels, Belgium.
Regional funds, particularly the EU Cohesion Policy (CP) instruments, are a major source of financing that can complement other innovation-related schemes. CP instruments represent one-third of the total European Commission budget and, of that, one-quarter is dedicated to research, development and innovation activities. Recently, the European Commission drafted a new Cohesion Policy proposal for 2014-2020.
Among the topics set to be covered during the event are:
- raising awareness about regional funding opportunities;
- experiences of those active in the field and making use of regional funding;
