The Second Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) International Workshop of Smart Communication Protocols and Algorithms will take place from 10 to 15 June 2012 in Ottawa, Canada.

Smart communication protocols and algorithms make use of several methods and techniques (such as machine learning techniques, decision making techniques, knowledge representation, network management, network optimisation, and problem solution techniques) to facilitate network device communication and exchange data.

In fact, smart protocols and algorithms can be used to perceive network conditions, or the user behavior, in order to dynamically plan, adapt, decide, take the appropriate actions, and learn from the consequences of its actions. Goals, such as deciding which scenario fits best an end-to-end purpose, or environment prediction, can also be achieved through the use of smart protocols and algorithms.

The workshop participants will look at the latest in design, development, analysis and optimisation of protocols and algorithms at various communications layers. For further information, please visit: http://www.ieee-icc.org/index.html(opens in new window)
