Summer school on optimisation and decision support systems for supply chains, Portalegre, Portugal
Decision support systems for supply chains compile useful information from a combination of raw data, documents, personal knowledge, or business models to identify and solve problems and make decisions. They serve the management, operations, and planning levels of an organisation.
The summer school will feature an intensive programme on optimisation techniques directed towards supply chains and their integration with well-known decision support systems.
The programme will focus on the modeling and optimisation of a network of production-distribution facilities, considering the material and financial fluxes in a multi-echelon framework, and also addressing 'green' logistics. At the production level, the planning and scheduling of the processes and their systems usually found in manufacturing industry, petrochemical and pharmaceutical supply chains will be covered.
Classes will include general talks, formal lectures, case studies, project development, computer lab sessions and technical visits. For further information, please visit: http://w2.estgp.pt/docentes/jlmiran/o&dss_4Sc/(opens in new window)
