The Eighth International Conference on Urban Climate will take place from 6 to 10 August 2012 in Dublin, Ireland.

Climate change can cause significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to millions of years. Science has made progress in understanding climate change and its causes, and is beginning to help develop a strong understanding of current and potential impacts. This understanding is crucial because it allows decisionmakers to place climate change in the context of other large challenges facing individual nations and the world at large.

This event will examine research and urban climate effects in all scales and set important benchmarks for the development of the field. It will also be a forum in which urban climatologists can discuss modern developments in research, and the application of climatic knowledge to the design of better cities. For further information, please visit: http://www.icuc8.org/(opens in new window)
