'Images and visualisation: imaging technology, truth and trust', Norrköping, Sweden
With recent advances in science and visual engineering, creating images for science, of science and for the translation (interpretation) of science has become not only more commonplace, but also more scientific.
To understand the social, ethical and aesthetic challenges posed by the creation, use and appeal of such images, it is necessary to go beyond traditional art history and traditional aesthetics. Instead, images need to be understood in the context of modern science, technology and society, and bring together producers, researchers and users.
The aim of this conference will be to bring together experts from across the natural and social sciences, curators, artists, producers and users of images based on advanced visual engineering. By exploring emerging challenges at the interface between advanced visualisation technologies, truth and trust the event will seek to stimulate talk, interaction and collaboration between the arts, humanities and (natural, medical, engineering, computer) sciences. For further information, please visit: http://www.esf.org/index.php?id=9115(opens in new window)
