The 'CROCK project workshop' will take place from 22 to 24 May 2012 in Stockholm, Sweden.

The event will look at the work of the EU-funded 'Cystalline Rock retention processes' (CROCK) project. CROCK is seeking to provide waste management organisations with a tool for improving the situation in forthcoming site investigation programmes. It is also working on safety statement and measurement for crystalline rock far-field as a radionuclide migration barrier.

The workshop's agenda will include a wide variety of discussions based on the individual components of the project, including:
-experimental material characterisation;
- radionuclide transport and sorption studies;
- real system analysis;
- conceptualisation and modelling;
-application and a safety case.

The project brings together ten entities from Germany, Sweden, Czech Republic, Russia, Spain and Finland.For further information, please visit: http://www.crockproject.eu/NewsAndEvents.aspx(opens in new window)
